URGENT PRAYER

Scotland votes on a referendum for independence from the united kingdom this week.

There are a host of arguments for independence AND continued union.  Just think of George Washington fighting off the British; then think of Abraham Lincoln fighting to keep the USA together.

I am asking your prayer about the divisive nature of the debate,
and the reconciliation we will need as a people afterwards.

The vote is Thursday September 18th.  It is a great day for Scotland, who has seen the largest registered electorate ever recorded (4.3 million out of 5.3 population)

The unionists are mostly accused of scaremongering and making emotional pleas, while the independence movement has produced a white paper and has been promoting economic forecasts (which can only be hypothetical)

I see that rural people want to 'kick-out-Britain' and city folk value the globalist union of nations. (On average). But the propaganda is thick and the BBC has a sort of blackout on pro independence reporting.  Either way, about 45% of the country is going to be dejected on Friday.

The nationalists have moved God out of the public eye. Changing prayer to time of reflection. They have passed legislation establishing gay marriage.  They support death legislation like assisted suicide and abortion.  But so does the 'conservative' UK govt.

Please pray for Scotland.

That God will have mercy on this rebellious land.  And the a more fair society will result, regardless of the vote tally.

For Christ and the church,
~David Fraser

PS I am coming to visit Los Angeles October 12-19th if you want to get together
